Ramblin' 'Bout Sherlock (Oh, and Weekend Artwork #17)

   Okay, by "Tomorrow", I meant Sunday. My bad. Anyway, I totally love Sherlock. To sum it up for people who are unfamiliar with the show, it's a British television show that's literally a modern-day take on Sherlock Holmes. It's awesome. I finished season one, and I'm waiting to see Season Two on PBS (I heard they're showing it in the US there in their "Masterpiece Theater" or something).

  Anyway, I love this show, as I said before. Sherlock is now one of my favorite self-proclaimed high-functioning sociopaths. I am also now a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch. And I gotta admit, the show's version of Moriarty has grown on me. At first, I was like, "Eh, I'm not so sure.." then shortly after finishing "The Great Game" I decided he was alright with me, and I liked him more than Game of Shadows!Moriarty. Sherlock!Moriarty has more charisma.

  Oh, I'm distinguishing the movies and the show mentally by referring to the movies!Holmes and Watson by... calling them "Holmes and Watson". Show!Holmes and Watson are "Sherlock and John" to me, as they are referred to in-show.

  I think I'm starting the metamorphosis into a full-fledged Sherlockian, because I always internally giggle when I hear someone say/I feel bored. Because I think of Sherlock, who gets bored when he doesn't have something like a murder to solve. And this show (along with the Sherlock Holmes movies with my beloved Robert Downey Jr.) is really making me want to read the original books. Plus, it (and Doctor Who, which I recently started watching as well) is helping make me more cultured. I now know a "jumper" is a British term for a sweater! :D

  Anyway, I've been obsessed with the show lately, and I drew some fanarts of the show. This was my favorite, and I thought, "Hey! Let's bring back Weekend Artwork!". So, I posted the AMAZINGNESS that is SHERLOCK AND JOHN DRESSED AS PHINEAS AND FERB!! BEHOLD, MORTALS!

Yes, Skull is the equivalent of Perry in this picture...

Weekend Artwork #15: Pravus For The Win!

  So, here we are again. I decided to do something more.... literary-based this week. There are many vampire books out there. Your opinion may very on how good some of them are. Recently, I read Awakened. And I was.... less than impressed. Anyway, it inspired this, a result of a three-way vampire fight...

In the end there can be only one...

 Yes, out of Twilight, House of Night, and The Chronicles of Vladamir Tod, Vladamir Tod's my favorite. He would totally wipe the floor with Zoey Redbird and Edward Cullen.

 "How?" You may ask. "Zoey's got like, crazy powers and Edward has no classic vampire weaknesses, that sparkly freak of nature!" Well, I have two words for you:

 The. Lucis.

 That is all.

Weekend Artwork #14: X-23 Vs. Xion

  So, you know how I like Marvel and Kingdom Hearts? Well, I WAS going to do a fusion picture of X-23 and Xion, but then I decided: "Naw, let's just make a fight scene!" Then the voices in my head cheered, "YES! FIGHT SCENES! SHE SAYS WHAT WE'RE ALL THINKING!" Thus, this is what was born from my brain-meats.

 It's kinda weird the initial similarities between Xion and Laura. Both are (*358/2 SPOILER*) female clones of a male character (Sora and Wolverine, respectively), both have dark hair, both were created by sinister groups. Heck, said groups even have roman numerals in their names!

 Of course, they have their differences, but I'm just pointing out the minor similarities.

 Behold! A crossover fight caused by trigger scents, missions, and few unkind words.....

Yeah, I'm adding this to my list of "Things I Wannna See In A Marvel/KH Crossover"...

 So, that's about it! PS, if anyone realizes why it's appropriate that THIS is this weekend's Weekend Artwork, you'll win.... imaginary cookies. They have imaginary chocolate chips and sparkly, sugary rainbow sprinklessssssss......

Weekend Artwork #13- Those Two Guards.... and Braig

  Hola! So, I was thinking, I don't really show Xaldin and Lexeaus from Kingdom Hearts much love. It doesn't help that they don't play much of a role in the series and really didn't do much. Demyx was Demyx (AND A PAIN IN THE BUTT TO BEAT!!!!), and Luxord was British and had playing cards, so they were more memorable. Anywho, I also don't do much with the Somebodies, either. So I thought, "Hey! Let's do a picture of Dilan and Aeleus, Xaldin and Lexeaus's Somebodies!" So, here it is!

Dilan took his coffee with cream and two sugars, LIKE HIS SOUL!

 And eventually, I thought of this little story to go with it. Enjoy!

Those Two Guards.... And Braig

  Dilan and Aeleus were returning from their break. They FINALLY got to have it, no thanks to Braig disappearing. But since Lord Ansem the Wise had gone out to take Ienzo to get a new book, and Even was expendable, they could sneak away to get some coffee. As they walked out of Starmunny, with their coffee, poppy seed muffins, and a cookie for Ienzo, Dilan asked, "Where did Braig go?"

 Aeleus shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe he's dead." Dilan shook his head. "I rarely question Lord Ansem, but I fail to see why he decided to hire Braig as a guard.." Aeleus chuckled.

"HEY GUYS! 'SUP?"

 Aeleus and Dilan both let out a sigh as the sharpshooter ran up behind them. "Hello, Braig." Dilan greeted, exasperated. Aeleus looked at Braig, who's head, eye, and cheek was bandaged. "Where have you been?" he asked, deadpan. Braig paused a little, thinking. As the two walked away, Braig got it and chased them both down.

 "You see, I was buying something for Ansem and Even, and the salesmoogle was like, 'That'll be 400 Munny, Kupo!' So I was like, 'Dude, as if! I only got 350, let me pay you the other 50 later!' Then the Moogle's like, 'No! You're going to pay now! Kupo!' And I'm all, 'I can't! Pay day's tomorrow! I work for Ansem!' And he's all, 'Yeah right. Now you will pay... IN BLOOD!' So then he beat me up."

 Dilan and Aeleus just stared at him. "Really?" Dilan asked, skeptical. "Seriously! I swear I was attacked by Moogles!" Braig said, and went off in a huff.

 "Did he really expect us to believe that?" Dilan asked Aeleus. Aeleus shook his head. "He's a horrible liar." "It's probably better we don't know..." Dilan stated. The two then continued to walk back up to the castle, sipping their coffee. The less headaches they had, the better.

Halloween Artwork Special 2011- Doctor Vampire Wolf Mummy Chucky

 HAPPY HALLOWEEN, GUYS AND GHOULS! I decided instead of a Weekend Artwork, I decided to do a Halloween Artwork. So, after racking my brain-meats, I remembered something I drew earlier this month. So, Jhonen Vasquez brought up this thing he made up: a Doctor Vampire Wolf Mummy Chucky. He mentioned something about drawing it, so, of course, the Freak had to obey. So here it is, my rendition of THE DOCTOR VAMPIRE WOLF MUMMY CHUCKY!!!!!

  So, there you have it.  So Happy Halloween. NO I DON'T HAVE NO CANDY! Yeesh.......

Weekend Artwork #11 and 12- Kingdom Hearts: Strange Silly Shenanagins

 Okay, so with the news I got yesterday, I had to draw two pictures and do a "cheap animation" of some KH3D stuff.

 First, I'm hoping someone in the game acknowledges Riku's makeover in the game. And this has a hilarious way for this to happen.

Dang it, Riku! Quit confusing Sora!

 Poor Sora. He's so used to Riku being long-haired...

  Second, one of the Dream Eaters is called the Wonder Meow. But in Japan, it's the Wandanyan. I could not resist this:

 This is my first attempt at drawing Neku. The human characters came out weird.

 And finally, after reading the "Nyan" part, I started thinking of a certain video on the web. So, THIS was born! A HORRIBLE ANIMATION BASED ON THE NYAN CAT!

 Yeah, it's kinda bad. I couldn't get audio, so here's the original video of the Nyan Cat, so you can play it with my video and you can get an idea for what I was going for.

 So far, I think I'm the only one who came up with that....

 Hopefully someone will make a better one than I did, and when they do... I WILL POST IT!

 So there you go. I think we all learned a lesson: Don't use Windows Movie Maker to make a cheap animation, leave animation to those who have the software for it. No, wait, that was my lesson.  Anyway, hope you liked this week's Weekend Artwork!

A Long-Overdue Weekend Artwork #7-10 "THE NINJA KURT SAGA!"

   Sorry for not posting one of these things in forever. Haven't had the time. Anyway, here's something I had sitting, WAITING to be posted. It's based on the episode "I Am Unicorn" of Glee. It's kinda a saga, this WA.

*slips into recap-voice impersonation*

Okay, so here's what you missed on Glee.

Kurt tried for the role of Tony in the school's production of West Side Story with an epic performance of "I'm The Greatest Star", and spun SAI SWORDS! Much fangirling ensued from The Freak and Kurt fans.

Yes. Yes you are.

   Sadly, the people in-charge of casting questioned if our hero was masculine enough for the role.

I'm stumped, too, Kurt.

So then Kurt's confusion turned to rage when he saw his boyfriend Blaine had a better shot at the role of Tony than him. And so he went on a NINJA RAMPAGE through the halls, hunting down those who thought he wasn't suited for the role, and anyone in the way.

He's channeling his inner psycho Raphael and Elektra!

 What? That's not what happened? Well, that's what happened in my world. And it's awesome. So shut up and let me tell my story....

  ANYWAY! Eventually, Kurt saw the error in his ways, and all the hurt and damage he caused. So he remorsfully went to Blaine to appoligize for his deeds.

Let it out, Kurt. Let it out.... (And yes, Blaine, it was cool).

So Kurt went to appoligize to all, put up his ninja outfit, and everyone lived happily ever after for once. Until the Skrull Invasion.

Weekend Artwork #6: Guess Who's In-Charge?

 Well, this was an eventful week. The Freak finally saw Phineas and Ferb: Across The 2nd Dimension (LOVED IT!!!), The Freak started referring to herself in 3rd Person occasionally, and a space satellite is going/has crashed to Earth! Wow!

 The Freak...I mean... I started thinking about the first episode of Phineas and Ferb, "Rollercoaster". Remember that line Candace says?

It's haaaaard to write out Candace's giggle...

 Yep, Candace is now/will be in charge. Kinda hilarious in hindsight, ya know? It was kind of a funny thought that came into mah head. I thought Candace came out pretty good, considering it was my first time drawing her. Though it helped to have a reference.

Weekend Artwork #4 and #5: Lea and Teenpool Shenanigans!

 Sorry I didn't do this Saturday, but I'm doing it today! And I'm posting two today, since they have the same vibe.

 Pop Quiz? Who's Loveable Freak's favorite character from Kingdom Hearts? If you guessed Axel, you're correct! (If you also guessed Roxas, Vanitas, Luxord, and Xion, who are also up there, you are also correct and GET OUT OF MY MIND, TELEPATH!) Now who's one of Loveable Freak's favorite Marvel characters? You guessed Nightcrawler (He's one, if you've read one of my earlier posts I'll give you that..)? Yes, but he's not in this one. Hawkeye? True, but he was in last week's pic, I'm not using him this week. Rogue? Yes, but she's not in the pic either and I TOLD YOU GET OUT OF MY MIND! Human Torch? GAH! TELEPATH, YOU'RE MAKING ME UNCOMFORTABLE! And he's not in this. The answer is Deadpool.

 So, for funsies, I drew my beloved Axel and Deadpool in two pictures. The twist? Axel is in his original teenage persona, Lea, and Wade Wilson has been transformed into a teen, too. Here's the first, with  Teen DP in "civvies", and with zits.


Aw, he hasn't learned to use yellow textboxes... or swear yet.

 

 Between you and me, I think Deadpool and Axel would be awesome working together. Oh, the destruction. Them teaming would be the greatest/most hilarious/most terrifying possible thing to happen in the Kingdom Hearts series. Hey, Disney owns Marvel, it's a possibility. Those Square-Enix guys worked the miracle of fusing Final Fantasy and Disney together, they could find a way to work in Marvel...

Ahem... Sorry about that tangent. Here's the second one. It has two "special" guest stars.

You don't wanna know what "Teenpool's" been up to...

 Yep, "Teenpool" and Lea are antagonizing Teenage!Cyclops and Isa. This one's my favorite of the two pictures today. Who wants to make bets on the manner in which Teen-Cyclops and Isa kill our heroes?

 That's right, this is the first, non-ZIM/Jhonen Vasquez related WA work! It's a Marvel-related piece. It's in a sorta Feaux-Super-Deformed Anime Style!

 Yeah, I kinda cheated with Bullseye's head and used the shape-tool on paint. Eh. But yeah, Bullseye just got owned. Hawkeye rules! He is bound to be awesome in The Avengers. So yeah, that's it.

Weekend Artwork #2: Jhonen Scarecrow!

 It's Art Time Again! So InvaderCON 2: DoomCON was announced this week, and it's going to be in... *drumroll* Los Angeles, CA! Dang it, it's not close to me! AND this year, they'll actually have JHONEN VASQUEZ THERE! Dang it, they're mocking me......

 Anyway, according to a post on Twitter, here is his reason.

Why would I actually attend an INVADERCON? When else will so many fans be in one room with a dynamite-packed scarecrow I send in my place?

 Aww, can't you feel the love? This time, it's a relatively quick and painless death. WE'RE GROWING ON HIM, I TELLS YA!

 *ahem* Anyway, so that has inspired me to make this: THE SCARECROW!

 I kinda modeled it after the cameo him from IZ. Hmm.... wonder if this is gonna start a whole trend of people making "Jhonen-Crows". Or would it be "Scare-Jhonens"? "Scare-Vasquez's"? "Vasquez-Crows"? Eh... whatever, I'm digressing, it's not so important....

Weekend Artwork #1: Alien Propaganda

  So I've been a-working on this for two weeks. I drew it, but had to color over it because the scanner wasn't picking up the color. So, here it is! For you to see:

 Yes, this a piece of ZIM fanart. This is TALLEST SPORK, he's from a flashback in the unfinished episode "The Trial". The funky words is the "Irken Alphabet". Supposeibly, from this thing I saw, it should read "I want you to join the Irken Elite". The Irken Elite are the elite soldiers who become the Invaders when needed. I'm not sure whether it's a voluntary thing (probably not), but whatever, it's a cool "propaganda poster".

 I used SPORK because I think the Invader stuff started with him, seeing as the TALLEST before him called the Empire the "Republic", then he called the "Empire". Oh well, that's just my theory. Besides, I've never drawn him before, so I just wanted to use him, so if I'm wrong, roll with it.

 Well, there you go, every weekend I'll be putting up a piece of artwork of mine. So enjoy, and if you want to post it, anyone who may find this, PLEASE ASK TO USE IT FIRST! That's all I ask.
